First Day of Placement - 20th December 2012

My first day consisted of short demonstrations of how to finish a garment, I spent it learning the many different ways one can sew in ends to accomplish i high standard finished garment. i have to say the needles, alice used really helped especially with all the different yarn weights and thickness.

I usually use a standard brother spare machine needle for this process however this is not always effective.

For those of you that are unaware of what i mean when i use the term 'sewing in ends'.

attached below a hand knitter demonstrating one method of sewing in ends.

I would recommend alice Palmer as a great designer to intern with as she is a good mentor, she teaches you at a reasonable pace and has you finishing multiple garments, quickly and to a high standard.

Trial day...Smile day!!!

This post will appear late however i wrote it today-
saturday 15th December.....9days until christmas.

Today, i was scheduled in for a trial with 'Alice Palmer', scottish knitwear designer .  I travelled to her london studio. I had a trial from 2pm-4pm.

In my trial, i showed Alice my industrial dubied technical folder and she asked me assist her by sew in ends for a garment order due fairly soon.

The time literally flew by! i stayed on past 4. I enjoyed my experience.

At the end i was offered a 4 day placement pre january and a full time there after.

So Happy!

All the best for now!

Placement Season...

So as majority are aware  London Fashion week is rapidly approaching and a couple weeks before fashion students in their 2nd year become interns.

I sought after a knitwear placement with two very different knitwear labels; Alice Palmer and Leutton Postle.

Alice Palmer is a established knitwear designer, who garments ooze luxury, style and high fashion through the use of constructed machine knitting and dynamic colour selections.

Alice Palmer is my inspiration, it would be an amazing accomplishment to learn from and also work for her.

To those unaware of alice Palmer please take a look!!

Leutton Postle are a dynamic knitwear duo (Jenny Postle & Sam Leutton) with a fairly new knitwear label. They are colourful and there aesthetic is quirky, fashionable knitwear that appeals to people who love bold, vibrant colour palettes and play.

I am in ♥!!!

Fiat 500 PinkFiat 500 Pink
My baby, You will be mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe not in this limited edition colour but i absolutely ♥  this bad ass beep!!!!!! The volaire blue is ideal. The fiat 500,  you know i love fashion and study, eat, breathe fashion so why would my baby not be highly fashionable.
Stating the obvious, a PR for Fiat said that the 500 Pink appeals “mainly to young women”, and is being marketed as a “must-have, motoring fashion-item”.

So what is the appeal well 500 has a beautiful designed dome style roof, 4 cylinder, 3 doors, oh and listen to this dual drive electric steering.

It is an expensive beauty but my standards are way up.Class A to insure but i can dream first and then aspire and wait and you will see my beauty.
